uwinreslife Wi-Fi Disruption

Some users have reported an issue with the uwinreslife Wi-Fi. IT Services has identified the issue, and the service should be restored by Thursday morning.

Firewall Maintenance – Tuesday, May 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m.

The firewall will undergo maintenance on Tuesday, May 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. During this period, users can expect multiple short network interruptions. 

After the maintenance window, you may have to restart or log in again on various platforms. It is also recommended that you refresh your GlobalProtect VPN connection after 7:30 a.m. Follow the steps in the How to Refresh the GlobalProtect VPN knowledge base article.

Network maintenance Tues Apr 30 5:30-7:30am
IT Services will be performing a software update on the campus firewalls Tuesday, April 30 between 5:30am and 7:30am. During this maintenance there will be brief interruptions to network service to Computer Science and Student Accessibility Services.

You may have to restart or log in again on various platforms when the network resumes operation.

Several campus systems will be affected by maintenance, April 25 at 10 p.m.to April 26, at 8:30 a.m.

As part of the Server Modernization Project, UWinID Account updates, including account activation, extending an account, and account password changes will be unavailable starting Thursday, April 25 at 10 p.m., to Friday, April 26, at 8:30 a.m. 

Data integrations will be disrupted for the following systems during the maintenance time, but the systems will remain online:  

  • Accessible Information Management (AIM) 
  • AIMS Parking Online System  
  • Animal Care Certification 
  • Andover/Access Expert (Building Automation) 
  • Brightspace 
  • Destiny
  • eCV 
  • eGAS 
  • Electronic Research Services Office (eRSO/Romeo)

The maintenance is necessary to improve security and is scheduled to be completed outside of regular business hours to minimize the disruption to campus.

Resolved - Microsoft Outlook Online Exchange Email Issue

RESOLVED - Microsoft is reporting that some users in Canada may experience email delays in sending and receiving emails, and in some cases, the email delivery may fail.  

Microsoft Support is working to remediate the issue expediently.  

We apologize for the inconvenience.  

We will update today at 4 p.m. on ITS Service Status & Notification webpage if any information is provided by Microsoft.  

Completed - Network maintenance, Monday, April 15, 10:30-11:30 p.m.

COMPLETED - To patch a critical security vulnerability, IT Services will perform network maintenance on Monday, April 15, between 10:30 and 11:30 pm.

During this time, there may be short 5-10 minute outages to the University's Internet connectivity. Additionally, the Computer Science and Student Accessibility Services networks will experience multiple brief 30 second outages.
